Re: Horror shorts (German) for DB/S-Bahn Berlin

Agreed, sounds like a live orchestra to me! Very effective scoring.

Re: Sankt Georg

Agreed on the biological differences (imagine a women union rugby team versus a man union rugby team, it would be a carnage ;-) ). But "strong" doesn't mean "physically" strong, as you point out with the Skywalker example. My point is only relevant about fields where these biological differences are...

Re: Sankt Georg

Strong female characters (other than princesses) is not a new revolutionary concept. There are a lot of strong women in old movies, series and anime : No disagreement here since the study I quoted is statistical (i. e. it's a numerical account of female characters and lines since 1980), showing how...

Re: Sankt Georg

Please guys don't mistake criticism for censorship. What you're referring to is criticism, not censorship. It doesn't imply to be "brave" to subject oneself to "criticism". It just implies to understand on what ground this criticism originates, and from that, if you care or not. It's the very essenc...

Re: Sankt Georg

Nope, I'm a french guy ;-) Agreed on the sound design side, I went through one sound design job once and promised myself never going through that kind of job again. Yep, I see what you mean by the emotion-carrier. Even a double bass alone can do a lot to shed a dark mood. But you seem to be very pro...

Re: Sankt Georg

I like the theme at the beginning and ending. Not a lot to say about the rest, it sure does the job and remains discreet.

Re: Bridge

By the way .. you are of course right, that your intro has 8 2/4 bars (or 4 4/4 bars) and is therefore an even number matching the following melody, however, it is split into 5+3, which makes the moment of the melody entrance weird. Well, I was totally unaware of this unbalance... Thanks for pointi...

Re: Bridge

Thanks for taking the time to do the transcription and simplification work :-) I agree with all your remarks but two: - I checked my Reaper project, the number of bars of the intro is pair - I do play everything on two-handed piano before arranging The rest is true: I overwrite, tending to be at a q...

Re: Bridge

I should have been more accurate. It's about connecting two unrelated ideas, which implies most of the time a modulation at one point. For example, take this track: https://soundcloud.com/user-755247688/fanfare-for-the-yellow-army The "bridge" around 0:40 is OK, but the one around 2:00-2:20 is quasi...

Bridge

Here we'll talk about the card game. There was a thread at VI-C, someone asking for some devices for bridges. It's one of the weakest point of my writing, so I was very interested to see where this thread would go. It got zero answer. Which is a bit frustrating. So: readings, scores, advices regard...

Re: What do you guys know about EIS?

Interested too in some feedback, because Farkle mentioned it several times, and I have no idea if it would be useful or if it would just be a kind of procrastination over an already very reduced production time. I've seen the topic at VI-C, but I barely participate in this forum anymore.

Re: Ghost of a Tale

Listened to the whole playlist twice while sorting out the Conservatoire's library. Loving all the tracks! Particularly fond of Ouma Rezzia's theme. Sharing it right away with the colleagues of the Conservatoire de Poitiers. Thanks for sharing :-)

3 flutes and 3 trumpets :-)
I thought it would be more complex :-) Are the flutes unison or 8va? Sounds unison to me.

Thanks Raphael, although there's no oboe in it, only flutes and clarinets ;-)
Ahah, I totally misheard the main line à 1:28! What is it made of?
