Strings Artifacts Galore!

Here's something a bit different:

The first movement only, because we're not insane. But the first minute would be enough as well. Would be interesting to know which strings VST can handle that kind of thing the best.

Here is the pdf

Here's my shot at it.

I can't upload it on soundcloud, because the algorithm thinks it's a protected recording from the London Chamber Orchestra... I don't know if it says something good about my mockup, or something really bad about their algorithm, as I didn't even use any real interpretation to mimic.

Some cringe-worthy moments (damned appogiaturas), but was interesting to make.

That's well done.

But let's focus on a very short sequence (I let you choose).

But let's focus on a very short sequence (I let you choose).

From 2'09 to 3'00 (in the linked video) would be interesting, as it goes through quite the number of dynamics, and the spotlight shifts between sections. Some library only handle quiet parts well, and other louder parts. And we get to hear how each library handle the dreaded appogiaturas (which to be fair are not the articulation one needs the most in film music, but I hate that film music gets dumbed down because of the intrinsic limitations of the VST libraries. Nowadays you can hear in real recordings which articulation patch they're emulating from the initial mock up, and that's sad.)

If that's too long for some people, they can try the theme B from 3'06 to 3'40.
