Horror shorts (German) for DB/S-Bahn Berlin

Post by FriFlo » Fri 29 Mar 2019 16:51

I recently did the music for several short films (kind of edu-tainment) for the "Deutsche Bahn/S-Bahn Berlin". It was great fun to (kind of!) work in the Horror-Genre for the first time. This is the first of the four spots, while the other ones are still to be released. Enjoy!

Agreed, sounds like a live orchestra to me! Very effective scoring.

Thank you, guys (and girls ... lol). It is a lot of work to get the midi kind of convincing and to me, it actually still sounds artificial in a lot of places. But most of the time, the music being buried under a lot of sound design or speech helps to cover up a lot.
I could have worked with at least a few musicians (string players) to add some layers of real playing. There was money for one recording session with a few strings (just recorded close up in my little studio). But unfortunately, we waited for more than a months for a feedback from the customer due to someone being sick. That is why there was no chance for any live stuff. That is how it often goes ... unfortunately!

Hi,

great work ! For me the second works better. I think there's too much movements in the first music while we see the smocke, but it's perfect for the second one.

Well produced, I'ld say that I hear the virtuality of the trombones and tuba at 0'45 but that's the only moment where it's obvious.

Thank you, Matthieu! I just added the third one (Music) with a fourth coming soon. I could also do some Rammstein for this (lol!).
About the movement during the smoke ... yeah, i wanted something else there, but this part was actually from another of the series (which is not going to be seen, as it was to violent :-)
But the director wanted this part for the smoke.
